A few weeks ago I shared a post confessing that a “vacation project” had gotten a little out of hand. So here is the more presentable version of that story: variantmanagement.com is officially relaunched!
It’s my personal project — a playground I genuinely enjoy building on. Everything I’ve learned about the complexity of variant management goes into it: first in the context of an SAP project, now as a Digital Thread Expert at PROSTEP/BHC.
What you’ll find there
- Articles that go deeper than “just use a configurator”
- A glossary that is meant to be genuinely useful
- And: it’s not a vendor site
Why
Variant management is often reduced to sales configurators, 150% BOMs or the advice “reduce your variants” — more often than the topic deserves. In reality, it touches requirements, architecture, engineering, production, aftersales — and the data backbone that holds it all together. That is exactly the version I’m trying to describe.
🔗 variantmanagement.com — I’m always curious what you think.
variantmanagement.com is not just another vendor landing page, but an attempt to describe variant management in its full breadth — from requirements to aftersales. A personal project that keeps growing with every article.
